Quis fazer uma coleção simples quase prática, mas cheia de peças belas e fortes, perfumadas com o exotismo e a elegância cultural dos Persas.

Quando passarem diante de meu pequeno jardim suspenso as saias, vestidos e blusas aparecerão quase sempre em formas retas, e as muitas calças com leves volumes nas pernas, tudo sempre envolvido por cinturas altas, marcadas por cintos com a intenção de alongar as silhuetas em um feminino efeito que me parece sempre tão atraente.

Os bordados exploram duas imagens desse universo cultural; o militarismo e a arte da joalheria. Estudando os designs das incríveis jóias do império desde as poucas imagens da corte de Darius até os Xás do Irã e recriando-as em metais grafitados consegui o efeito dos uniformes militares dos antigos persas.

Nas tramas de tecidos brinquei com a tradição têxtil de tramar-se tudo desde os tecidos e couros até os famosos tapetes, cuja alusão faço ainda com os tecidos estampados de kilim rebordados.

Os tecidos são puros; seda, algodão, linho, georgette. Também há alguns tricôs em fios de seda e algumas malhas.

As cores são sempre clássicas, preto, marinho, bege claro e cinza um toque de charuto uma pitada de tie dye.

Acho que faço essas escolhas por que desejo sempre que peças tão artesanais como essas, algumas levando até duzentas e cinqüenta horas para serem realizadas, vivam muitas primaveras nos armários das mulheres virzi, possibilitando sempre a decisão de se vestir para uma momento especial, em algum jardim onde o espírito persa esteja enfeitiçando a noite.

I wanted to create a simple collection and yet, with beautiful and strong pieces perfumed with the exotic Persian culture.

When they parade before my little suspended garden, the skirts, dresses and tops will appear, mostly in straight lines, as simplifications of their tunics, and the pants will show some volume in the lower legs, all involved in high waist lines, intensified by belts with the intention of creating an elongated silhouette which I find always so attractive.

The embroideries exploit two images of this universe; the militarism and the art of jewelry, two mirrors of the great pride of these people. Studying the designs of the great jewels of the empire, from the scarce images of Darius I’ s court to the Xas of Iran and recreating the pieces in gun metal, I achieved the effect of the ancient Persian military uniforms.

In some dresses I played with the textile tradition of weaving everything from fabrics and leather to the famous carpets to which I also allude with the embroided ikat.

Fabrics are classic; silk, georgette, cotton, hemp also in classic colors like black, navy, light beige, ash and touch of “cigar” and tie-dyes.

I believe I make these choices because I always wish for pieces so artisan like these, some leading up to two hundred and fifty hours to be handcrafted, to live many springs in the closets of the Virzi women, making it always possible that they make the decision of dressing for a special moment, in some garden where the Persian spirit is bewitching the night.
