THE MORE I REVOLT, THE MORE I MAKE LOVE

E nesse verão a totem é rock. Portanto rock AND roll.

`The more i revolt, the more i make love´ - esse cara entendeu tudo rapidinho e inspirou a totem a explodir.

Feminino. Masculino. Troca.

Tecidos leves e pesados; a tricoline estrutura, o voil libera.Opostos que se complementam.

Protagonista do cenário rock, o jeans surge com força total.

A cartela de cores é pop: branco, amarelo, vermelho e roxo.

Rock Revolt. Um verão cheio de atitude.

For the first time, Santista Textil takes part in Fashion Rio and presents its jeanswear line on the Totem runway

Jeanswear debuts on the Totem runway for Summer 08 in Fashion Rio. For this occasion, the brand wouldn’t have it any other way than to share the catwalk with Santista Textil, a world leader in the segment. Denim is strongly connected with the inspirational sources of the collection – the world of Rock n’ Roll – which was responsible for the creation of a number of jeanswear icons.

The brands’s Summer 2008 season targets the duo – jeans + colored prints. One of the highlights of the show is the special weave developed by Totem during the stay of its fashion design team at the Santista Textil University. Since 2005, the “Jeans University” calls on fashion students and renowned professionals of the segment to immerse themselves in the denim universe. Based in Americana, the university offers guests the opportunity to experience the complete range of washes and finishes presented in its courses, from washes to finished pieces.

During her stay at the university, fashion designer Karina Vela, a member of the Totem team, had the idea of creating a unique product for the brand’s collection. “With the enormous choice of product options allied with advanced technology and highly special support from the university, I found a number of resources to materialize my idea,” said Karina. The designer combined small denim laces in varying hues – from blues, through grays, to black – artfully crafted into a sturdy weave, something like a checkers board. This handmade look hyped several pieces in the collection.

Various resined Santista fabrics were included in Totem’s collection, projecting daring forms, details in colored stitching and different-sized buttons placed about the garments. The brand chose to work with two extremes: denim as presented in stoned finishes with washes imparting a used look, or following a no-wash trend, in its raw state; simply softened. With a collection of classic items shifting to more elaborate pieces, Totem jeanswear arrives in grand style, showing its capacity to explore all the versatility of demim and validating its success story with partner Santista.
